3 must have videos for social media

Videos for social media are up there as one of the most powerful content types, with video placements ranging from short form Instagram Stories, to longer form executions, such as YouTube & IGTV. But what I want to cover today is tactics… Strategy!

It’s all well saying you’re going to commit to using IGTV or TikTok, but if you don’t know why you’re doing it, then chances are you’re going to put video out there that doesn’t fully support you, AKA fluff.

So, if you’re just starting out with video or even just deciding it’s the way forward for your business, then here’s 3 must have videos that you should be using in your content strategy:

Explainer videos

Explainer videos are simple but effective animated videos which work great on websites, as well as social media. They simplify exactly what your offering is.

It serves as a way to tell someone, who is just discovering you for the first time, exactly what you do in a nice clean and easy to understand way.

Interview videos for social media

Interviews are great to have up in your strategy because they are a super powerful way to deliver hands on value to your social media audience. Use them to interview an expert in your niche, even one from a complimentary niche to show your social media followers that you are super passionate about what you do. And who are people going to buy from? The company who aren’t really passionate, or the one who is fanatic about their industry… You know the answer to that one!

Not only that but it really underpins you as an expert in your field and can lead to additional exposure, press opportunities and collaborations.

Or why not interview a past customer and turn it into a testimonial… Super powerful to have potential customers put questions to a past customer!

Tutorials

Last up, you must have tutorials in your plan! These are what’s going to get you discovered and help move people through the all important buying cycle… And we all want people to be buying what we offer!

Give walk through demonstrations, show what your product or service can do… help people achieve.

You can even repurpose the long form video tutorials onto Instagram Reels and Stories so that you get the value from your effort for a long time to come.
